Terms

Plain terms for a simple purchase.

You pay once, you get a licence, and it is yours. Here is what that covers, what we ask of you, and where our responsibility ends.

01The agreement

These terms apply to the Rowie app for macOS, the website at rowie.app, and the licence you buy from it. By downloading, installing or buying Rowie you agree to them. If you do not, do not use the software.
Rowie is made and sold by MVP STACK LLC. "We" and "us" mean MVP STACK LLC; "you" means the person or organisation using the software.

02Your licence

A licence is a one-time purchase. It lets you install and use Rowie on one Mac at a time, for personal or business use, for as long as you like. There is no subscription and nothing to renew.
The licence is yours to use, not to sell. You may not share, resell, sublicense or publish your key, and you may not use one key to run the app on more Macs than it covers. You can move it: choose Rowie › Licence… › Deactivate This Mac and the seat is free to use elsewhere.
You may not reverse engineer, decompile or modify the app, or work around its licence check, except where the law expressly allows it.

03Updates and versions

Updates are covered by your licence at no extra cost. If a future major version is ever a paid upgrade, we will say so plainly and the licence you have keeps working with the version you bought.
We may add, change or retire features between releases. We do not promise any particular feature will exist forever.

04Refunds

If Rowie is not what you expected, email [email protected] within 14 days of buying and we will refund you in full. A refunded key stops working.
A payment reversed through your bank or card issuer without contacting us first is treated the same way, and the key is revoked.

05Your files

Rowie runs on your Mac and reads the files and databases you open in it. It never uploads them to us; the privacy page describes what the app does send.
Rowie only reads: sorting, filtering and hiding columns change what you see, never the file or database. Exports are written to new files you choose. Even so, you are responsible for your own data, and we recommend keeping a backup. We cannot be responsible for loss of data on your Mac or your servers.

06Your servers and databases

Rowie connects to the servers and databases you point it at, using your own SSH keys and credentials. You are responsible for having permission to access them.
Rowie relies on open-source software, including DuckDB, the MongoDB C driver and Sparkle, which are governed by their own licences. They are provided by their authors, not by us.

07No warranty

Rowie is provided as is. We work hard to make it accurate and reliable, but we do not warrant that it is free of errors, that every file will be read exactly as another program reads it, or that it will suit a particular purpose. To the fullest extent the law allows, we exclude all implied warranties.

08Limit of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability to you for anything arising from Rowie, the website or these terms is limited to the amount you paid for your licence. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost data, lost profits or lost time.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including consumer rights that apply where you live.

09Ending the licence

We may revoke a key that is shared, resold, used beyond its seats, obtained by fraud, or used to break these terms. You may stop using Rowie at any time by deleting the app.

10Changes and contact

We may update these terms. The date at the top changes when we do, and continued use after a change means you accept it. Material changes will be noted on this page.
Questions go to [email protected]. How we handle your data is set out on the privacy page.
